RCEC certificate for the CBR practical driving exam for the car has been extended

The country’s oldest and largest exam, the practical driving exam for the car of the Central Bureau for Driving Licences (CBR) in the Netherlands, once again meets the six criteria of the RCEC Review System for the Quality of Examination. In 2020, CBR received the initial RCEC certificate for this, which was valid until 1 January 2023.

RCEC re-evaluated the exam on the substantive, organisational and psychometric aspects. It follows that the exam scored satisfactory to good on all aspects. With this, the RCEC certificate has been extended for a period of three years. The awarding of the certificate took place on 3 April 2023 at the CBR exam location in Arnhem.

CBR attaches great importance to the quality of its exam products. To this end, it works on uniform exams, the most objective assessment possible and continuous analysis of exams. Jan Jurgen Huizing, director of operations, received the new certificate from Dr Arnold Brouwer, director of RCEC.

Jan Jurgen Huizing: “Our customers are critical of the judgement of our examiners. So are we ourselves, because the quality of the practical driving exam for the car should always be of a high standard regardless of where and by whom it is administered. Since 2019, we have had the practical driving exam reviewed by the independent expertise centre RCEC, which specialises in assuring the quality of exams. We are proud to be able to tell our customers that once again the verdict is satisfactory to good for our practical driving exam. A confirmation of our commitment to quality.”

The practical driving exam for the car will be reassessed with an intermediate control audit in April-June 2024. The formal audit and successful certification will then be at the end of 2025.
